Gerizim Media is focusing on the Samaria area. Beautiful hill country of Samaria is located in the middle of Israel.
Media, politicians and even students around the world have been greatly involved over the past decades in figuring out to whom this piece of land belongs. A lot has been spoken about the ”Israeli-Palestinian” conflict.
1. Reality in Samaria is worth to discover Samaria has drawn a plenty of international attention. However, a great number of the news that speak about Samaria are made by foreign journalists who don't live there neither have even visited this area. And if journalists visit there they often have a guide with them who let them know how to see things and with whom to talk.
During our seven and half years here in Samaria we have discovered reality that is pretty far from the mainstream news. Reality in Samaria is worth to discover, and we will do our best to share it with you.
Here is one story for you as a good beginning. It is the first episode of the Wind of the Kingdom -series:
2. It is crucial for the nations how they relate to Samaria
Samaria has an important role in God's end time plan. Many believers still neglect this area.
The Bible has severe messages for the nations concerning the area of Samaria. God does care how the nations relate to this area and believers have a key role to pray for their nations.
”Therefore, prophesy concerning the land of Israel and tell the mountains and hills, the ravines and valleys, that this is what the Lord GOD says: Behold, I have spoken in My burning zeal because you have endured the reproach of the nations. Therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: I have sworn with an uplifted hand that surely the nations around you will endure reproach of their own.” (Ezek. 36:6-7 BSB)
In this prophesy by Ezekiel God speaks about the mountains of Israel. This area includes Samaria, and many nations have decided to support building an Islamic state there. God swears in Ezekiel 36 that the intentions of the nations concerning this area will come back to them as a boomerang.
I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land. (Joel 3:2 NASB)
If a nation desires a good future, the last thing it should do is to be involved in dividing up the Land of Israel. God says here that it is His land, and Samaria is at the core of it. However there are many nations who have made proposals to divide up this land.
Now it is time for believers to find out God's plan for Samaria and pray for their nations to align with it. 3. Jesus Himself spoke about the area of Samaria as a last thing
When Jesus had the last conversation with His disciples, they asked Him:
“Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. (Acts 1:6-9 NKJV)
The last thing Jesus spoke about to His disciples was not a commandment, it was a prophecy. This prophecy mentioned two locations. One location was ”the end of the earth” and the other ”Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria” in the Land of Israel.
Jerusalem at Jesus' time was located around the Temple Mount and in our days this area is called East Jerusalem. ”East Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria” is today commonly referred to as the West Bank or the Palestinian territories.
So, Jesus prophesied about ”the West Bank”. He spoke that prophecy to His followers, and His prophecy will be fulfilled before He returns. Jesus' last words are a wake up call to the end time believers to focus on what God has in His mind for this area.
The areas of Judea and Samaria are often spoken in the same sentence. However, Samaria has a different history than Judea and the promises in the Bible are also different. Next time we will continue with the story of Samaria.
