Shechem Media was created by two Finnish journalists, Ari and Mia Valkeakari. They lived in Samaria 2012-2024.

​They produced over 120 TV documentaries, the majority of them focusing on Samaria. Their TV series and books are unique, because they bring out insiders point of view.

​For the first seven years Ari and Mia Valkeakari worked for Heaven TV7 Finland. Their TV series have been broadcast in Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Romania, Netherlands and a Russian-speaking web channel.

In 2019, they founded an international media house called Gerizim Media. It was renamed Shechem Media in May 2021.

​​Shechem Media focuses on highlighting what is presently happening in Samaria, as God is fulfilling His promises which are written in the Bible.

​Since September 2020, Ari and Mia Valkeakari lived in the Samaritan village on Mount Gerizim, where they learned to know the Samaritan community from the inside.

 

Their task in Samaria was completed and they moved to Finland in April 2024.
 

After a long illness, Ari Valkeakari passed away in January 2025.
